William Irving "Bill" Smiley, Jr., 72 of Monticello, Indiana, died on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at his residence.

William was born on Wednesday, May 16, 1951, in Hammond, Indiana to William I. Smiley and Mary (Malo) Smiley. 

William was a US Marine serving from 1970 to 1976.  He was a proud Union Iron Worker Local #395 Hammond, Indiana. William retired moving to Monticello Indiana area 15 years ago. He enjoyed spending time on his boat. William was most known for spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family. 

William is survived by his children, twins Bryan (Michelle) Smiley of Valparaiso, Indiana, Nicole (Ed) Vahary of Hobart, Indiana, Keith W. (Dominique) Smiley of Crown Point, Indiana, grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, and Brooklyn Smiley, Karlie and Kaylyn Vahary, great grandchildren, Levi and Violet, father, William I. Smiley, Sr. of Florida, siblings, Robert "Bob" (Karen) Smiley, Lawrence "Larry" (Chrissy) Smiley, and Nancy Dunaway. former wife, Diana Smiley of Winfield, Indiana, brother-in-law, Fred (Sherry) Brown of Windfield, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. 

William is preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Malo) Smiley.

No Visitation or service are scheduled at this time.
