Jack Raymond Butz, 78, lifelong resident of Brookston, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at Franciscan Hospital on Saturday, December 23, 2023. 

Jack was born to Raymond and Ruth (nee Lennen) Butz in February, 1945.  He graduated from Brookston High School, class of 1963, attended the Brookston United Methodist Church, and was a 50-year member of the Indiana Freemasons. Jack married Cheryl (nee Green) in April, 1966, at Hope Chapel Presbyterian Church in Lafayette, Indiana. 

Jack is survived by his family who loved him very much.  His beloved wife of 57 years, their daughter, Kristine Butz of Lexington, KY, son, Keith (Amanda) Butz of Bluffton, SC, daughter, Kalynn (Erik) Huntoon of Brownsburg, IN, grandson, Luke Huntoon of Brownsburg, IN, brother, Joe (Rita) Butz of Brookston, IN, and sister-in-law, Sandy (Jerry) Pijanowski of Urbana, IL. 

After leaving Alcoa, he went to work with his dad at Butz's Body Shop for 20 years, and retired from Fairfield Manufacturing in 2007. 

Jack enjoyed all sports.  He was an avid golfer who played many great courses in the Continental United States, Hawaii, and Canada.  His best days were spent with family, especially his wife, kids, and grandson.  He will be greatly missed. 

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Rev. Dr. Karen Bray to officiate.  Interment to follow in Battle Ground Cemetery.
