Jason D. Murray, 43, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly at 12:17 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 of a heart attack.

  Jason was born May 14, 1980 in Lafayette, Indiana to Darrell J. Murray and the late Jane E. (Howard) Murray.

  Jason was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and earned his associate degree in business from Ivy Tech.

  Jason was owner/operator of Stacks Moving Company for the last 5 years.  Prior to that he sold cars for Bob Rohrman Honda for many years.  At heart, Jason was an entrepreneur who loved to barter and make deals.  He also owned several rental properties in town.

  Jason had a huge personality and never met a stranger; he was witty, sarcastic and a jokester.  He always enjoyed meeting people and excelled at selling.  He loved music and playing his guitar.  Jason had a soft spot for dogs, cats and animals.  Above all, Jason loved his two daughters.  He enjoyed coaching their softball teams and spending time with them whenever he could.

 Surviving are his two daughters, Sloane and Kylie; his father, Darrell Murray of Brookston; his brother, Joseph “Darrell” Murray Jr. (wife: Jessica) and several special aunts, uncles, his niece and his nephew.  

  Preceding him in death is his mother, Jane.

  Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Pastor Brent Oliver to officiate.  Interment to follow in the Brookston Cemetery.
