Cameron R. Dunn

( May 7, 1988 - February 4, 2024 )

Cameron R. Dunn, 35, of Lafayette, passed away from a seizure at his parents' home on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Cameron was born May 7, 1988 at Lafayette Home Hospital.  He earned his graduation certificate from William Henry Harrison High School in 2010.

Cameron worked at Once Upon A Child in Lafayette for 16 years, stocking shelves, sorting hangers, hanging clothes and doing whatever the girls at the store needed.  He took pride in doing his job right and to the best of his ability.  He would often make his mom stand in the store and wait until he had finished sorting all the clothes.  He was proud to be the one to get things off the top shelf for his co-workers.  Cameron would often say, “I’ll come back and do it again on Tuesday” as he was walking out the door.

Cameron had a huge heart and a kind and loving personality.  He was never judgmental or mean to anyone.  He enjoyed yardwork, weeding flowerbeds and helping his father with tree work, including dragging brush, raking and using the hand saw.

Cameron had a fascination and love for trains.  He would get rides each morning from his dad to his brother’s house in Battle Ground where he would sit outside and watch for the trains to go by.  Cameron’s phone had over 18,000 pictures on it, most all of them of trains.  He had a great memory and could tell you when and where each train picture occurred.

Cameron loved spending time with his family.  He wanted to have people over and a cookout every weekend if possible.  He enjoyed teasing others and taking multiple stories from people and merging them into one new humorous one.  He loved his two dogs Alvarez (a Border Collie/German Shephard mix) and D.B (his Pitbull).

Cameron also loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Crossroads Christian Church in West Lafayette.

Surviving are his parents, Ron and Becky Holladay of Lafayette and his two brothers, Montana Dunn (fiancé: Michaela) of Battle Ground and William “Cody” Dunn of Lafayette.  Cameron loved spending time with his nieces Adrianna and Khloe.  Also surviving is his aunt, Jackie Diaz and two uncles, Kirby Norwood and Rich Holladay and several cousins, Jenny Norwood, Kris Hall (wife: Misty), Shannon Whitson (husband: Mark), Casey Norwood (wife: Brooke) and Wesley Diaz (wife: Alicia).

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, Ralph & Edith Norwood; his paternal Great-Grandma, Bernice “Ben” Benjamin; his uncle, Ralph Norwood; his aunt and uncle, Connie and Keith Hall; his aunt, Christine Miller and a cousin, Cabrielle Ubehlor.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Cameron Dunn Memorial Fund to be used for a later good in his name.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Pastor Dave Nance to officiate.
