Ross Ernest Barnard, 87, of Idaville passed away at his residence at 2:45 am Sunday May 19, 2024. He was born February 7, 1937 in Clinton County to the late Ross and Ruth Barnard.  He was a 1956 graduate of  Brookston High School. Ross served with the US Navy from 1956 until 1960.  On May 28,1971 at Monticello he married Sandra S. Booth, and she survives.  

Ross was employed by the White County Highway Department for 20 years.  He was also a trained farrier. He was a  White County 4-H leader with the Horse and Pony Club for 20 years. Ross loved horses and was also a horse trainer and breeder.

Surviving with his beloved wife Sandra are his daughter Suzanne (Rodger) Coverdale of Idaville, grandson Sean (Cara) Keay of Frankfort with great-grandchildren Dalton Jones and Olivia Jones. Granddaughter Amanda (Jay) German of Reynolds with great-grandchildren Cliston German and Arianna German.  Granddaughter Missy  Ventures (Brad Cole) of Kokomo with great granddaughter Branagan (Kyle) Meagher of Kokomo with great-granddaughter  Scottlyn.  Great-grand Dailan Reece of Idaville with great-great grandchildren Hailee and Blake.  Great granddaughter Morgan Reece of Lafayette with great-great granddaughter Maylei. Grandson Andrew (Kristi) Cloverdale of Frankfort with great grandchildren  Jarran , Camden, and Cayden.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
