Phyllis J. Maze, 83 of rural Lafayette, passed away at her residence at 6:40 am on Friday May 24, 2024.   She was born December 8,1940, in Buffalo, IN, to Clarence & Stella Leona VanMeter Luse.  She graduated from Monticello High School in 1958 and received her RN in Nursing from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing.  Her marriage was June 16,1963 to Jerry W. Maze at the original Zion Bethel Church in rural Monticello, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2019.

Phyllis is survived by her four daughters Lenora Maze of Kokomo, Suzy Maze of Lafayette, Rebecca Maze of Lafayette, and Margaret Maze of Lafayette. She is survived by two grandsons, Elijah Maze (Stephanie Cummings) of Lafayette and Justin Ray of Lafayette, and great-grandson Oliver Maze.  Also surviving are her 3 godchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home Monticello. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday June 1, 2024. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery, rural Monticello, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots in memory of Phyllis.
