Shirley Joan McGlothlin, 84, of Lafayette, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home in Lafayette with her husband and family by her side.

  Shirley was born August 8, 1940, in Lafayette to the late Benjamin and Martha A. (Pickering) Lively.  She was a 1958 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.

  Her marriage was to William “Bill” McGlothlin on March 7, 1956, at the Justice of the Peace in Lafayette.

  Shirley was a wonderful wife, mom and homemaker.  She also worked for 11 years at Village Pantry, was a manicurist and worked in child home healthcare.

  Shirley was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Lafayette.  She and her husband, Bill, enjoyed the many friendships made at the church.

  Shirley also enjoyed sewing and quilting.  More than anything, she loved spending time with family and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  Surviving is her husband, Bill; a sister, Dianna S. Raymond (husband: Bruce) of Park City, UT; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery of West Lafayette; her friend and High Priest from the church, Chad Allred, to officiate.
