Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home - Brookston
Katrina L. "Trina" Schrein (Herget)( November 17, 1966 - November 4, 2024 ) Katrina L. Schrein (Herget), 57, of Brookston, passed away after a nine-year battle with multiple types of cancer on November 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Trina was born November 17, 1966, in Camp Lejune, North Carolina to Melvin R. Schrein and Linda Oliphant. Trina attended St. Cloud High School in Florida before moving to Indiana. Trina worked in data entry for various companies throughout her career. Most recently, she worked in medical billing and coding. Trina had a laid-back personality and was easy to be around; she was very accepting and non-judgmental of others. She was a loving and supportive mother who you could tell anything. Trina was almost a year older than her sister, Theresa, and was always protective of her; the two were very close. She loved to spoil her Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, Ch. Lyonnese Stirling Braveheart and was super proud that he was a Champion at several dog shows. Trina also enjoyed camping on the river in Monticello with her best friend, Dwight Whitaker. She and Dwight enjoyed drinking coffee and playing Yahtzee and were not to be interrupted if she was losing. Trina was also blessed to have a special friend, Dave Wellman, who was looking out for her daily until the end. Surviving is her mother, Linda Henson of Brookston; a sister, Theresa “T.C.” Lyons (husband: Louis) of Bridgewater, NJ; her children, Ashley Albritton of Brookston, Scott Willison (wife: Ashley) of Monticello and Ian Cox (wife: Ashley) of Brookston; two beautiful grandchildren, Ryleigh and Dean and her wonderful nieces and nephews, Shannon, Louie and Sean. Also surviving is her father, Melvin Schrein. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Because of Trina's love for animals, especially her dog Stirling, her pacemaker is being donated to the Purdue Animal Clinic.
