Lois J. Lawson, 89, of West Lafayette, formerly of Remington, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus. Born on October 29, 1935, in Benton County to Chester and Amelia Dexter, Lois was a 1953 graduate of Gilboa High School. She married Wendell Dean Lawson on July 24, 1955, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1994.

Lois was a cherished member of the Red Hat Society of West Lafayette and the Remington United Methodist Church. She was the proud owner and operator of Remington Electric Hardware and Appliance Store for many years. Lois enjoyed reading, dancing in her younger years, and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events, cherishing time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Miller of West Lafayette, Wendell “Wynn” Lawson and his wife Ramona of West Lafayette, and Lisa Shelfer and her husband Mike of Sellersburg, IN; and her sister, Ina L. Stitz of Remington. Lois was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington, officiated by Rev. Roberta Cook. Interment will follow in Remington Cemetery.
