Samantha M. Meiners, 32, of Roselawn, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2025, in Hammond. Born on July 31, 1992, in Crown Point, she was the daughter of Billy Harper and the late Amy Meiners. Samantha attended Rossville High School and had lived in Crown Point, Roselawn, Rossville, and Hammond throughout her life.

She was employed at Burger King and had a passion for music, coloring, drawing, and camping. Samantha is survived by her children, Sophia, Maesyn, Christopher, Rhyn, Rhialea, Aveida, and Edward. She is also survived by her siblings, Kayla, Elisabeth, Brittney, Allie, Dillon, Michael, Kody, Tessa, Marissa, and Kylie; her father, Billy Harper; and her other parents, Corey and Amanda Nicolas. Her grandfathers, Steve Nicolas, David Ward, and David Gottschalk, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, also cherish her memory.

Samantha is preceded in death by her son, Rylan Benoit; her mother, Amy Meiners; and other parent, Lester Terry. Her grandparents, William (Pappaw) and Shirley (Mammaw) Harper, Sonja (Mutti) and James (Papa) Wittgren, Roland Meiners, Marsha Gottschalk, Linda Nicolas, and Betty Ward, as well as her sister, Brittney Hurley, aunts Tammy (Harper) Coffman and Debra Hurlburt, and cousins James (JD) Campbell and Kierra (Davis) Castillejo, have also passed before her.
