Curtiss Monroe "Curt" Northcutt( May 20, 1943 - August 24, 2025 ) Curtiss “Curt” Monroe Northcutt, 82, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 20, 1943, in Chevrolet, KY, Curt was the son of the late Monroe and Geneva (Simpson) Northcutt. He graduated from Rensselaer High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1970. A man of strong faith, Curt loved the Lord deeply. For more than 20 years, he was an active member of Wea Ridge Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon for many years. His church family was an extension of his own. Curt gave generously of his time and heart—helping with the church food pantry, passing out meals during the holidays, and ministering at several places in Lafayette to share the love of Christ and help others come to know the Lord. On September 19, 1964, Curt married his beautiful wife, Carol Irene Hahn. From that day forward, they shared an inseparable bond and built a life full of love, laughter, and faith. Curt often said how blessed he was to have Carol by his side, and those who knew them could see the deep devotion they had for each other. Their days often included simple joys—grabbing a bite to eat at McDonald’s, stopping at Goodwill, and tinkering together in the yard. They enjoyed doing everything as a team, whether it was running errands, traveling, serving in the church, or spending time with their family. Curt and Carol were true partners in every sense of the word, and their love was an example to everyone around them. Curt was a proud and loving father to Lori (Woody) Rusk and Greg (Brenda) Northcutt. He adored his grandchildren—Cory (Allison) Overman, Mady Northcutt, Natasha Rusk, and McKenzie Rusk—and cherished his great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Olivia Overman. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dane Northcutt. Curt especially loved cheering on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their ball games and activities. Family was his greatest joy, and he rarely missed an opportunity to be present for the ones he loved most. Curt is also survived by his sisters, Carol (Mick) Martin and Sandy Gratner, and his brother, Darrell (Sandy) Northcutt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim (Mary) Northcutt. Those who knew Curt will remember his love for God, his devotion to Carol and their family, his laughter, and his ability to make everyone feel special. To us, he was the best husband, dad, papa, and friend anyone could ask for. At Curt’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. His family honors his wishes and takes comfort in knowing that he is now free from pain and in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly. |
