Patricia Carlson, 80, of Kentland, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. She was born March 25, 1946 in Gary to the late Ocey and Bethel (Brunton) Franklin. Patricia was a 1964 graduate of A.J. Kent High School.

Her marriage was to Jerry Carlson on December 5, 1964 and he survives her.

Patricia was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and Newton County Home Economics Club. She served as the Newton County Treasurer and Auditor for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed arranging flowers, basket weaving, and antiquing.

Surviving along with her husband, Jerry, are children, Michael (Carol) Carlson of Rosemount, MN and Wendy L. (Jeff) McCord of Martinton, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amber, Thomas, Devon, Darren, Adrian, and Verlin.

Preceding her in death along with her parents is one sister, Donna Basan.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM (CST) until the time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM (CST) Friday, July 17, 2026 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery of Brook.

In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Patricia to Raub United Methodist Church.
