Frances L. Long, 68, of Remington, passed away on September 11, 2026, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. Frances was born at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 23, 1958. Frances was known for her strength, independence, and unwavering love for her family. She always put others before herself, making countless sacrifices to ensure those she loved were cared for and supported. Frances was a hard worker who dedicated many years of her life working at Dwyer in Wolcott, over 25 years working at Clay Critters of Lafayette, and over 20 years working at Clean as a Whistle in Rensselaer.

She is survived by her daughters, Veronica Siegle (Ted) of Remington, Carrie Justice (Ben) of Lafayette, Krystal Cadwallader of West Lafayette, Jessica Foulks (Aaron) of Wolcott, and Holly Long of Remington. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren Jordan Siegle (Andrea), Taylor Siegle, Dakota Garcia, Bryce Siegle, Kelly Williams (Cole), Kalei Justice, Destiny Cadwallader, Shea Cadwallader, Grace Cadwallader, Haven Long, Alexis Foulks, Lillian Foulks, Lane Foulks, and Phillip Cadwallader. Frances was a great grandmother of 3 with a baby girl on the way.

Frances is also survived by her siblings Robert Barnhart (Patrick), Pamala Barrett (Jim), and Beverly Valentine (Jeff).

Frances was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Barnhart, her husband, John R. Long, and her son, John B. Long.

A celebration of life honoring Frances will be held on Saturday October 3, 2026 at the Wolcott Community Center 203 W. Blake Street, Wolcott IN, 47995 from 3p-6p EST. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Tri-County Life Skills Program. Checks should be made payable to the Tri-County Life Skills Program and mailed to: Tri-County High School 11298 W County Road 100 S Wolcott, IN 47995. Donations can also be made at the ceremony.
