Joseph Alan “Joe” Bougher, 68, of Monticello, passed away on September 22, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Joe was born on September 20, 1958, in Roswell, New Mexico to Gerald Bougher and the late Judith ( Deboy) Bougher.
He was a 1976 graduate of Twin Lakes High School and a 1981 graduate of Purdue University.

On June 12, 1982, Joe married Linda Ruemler at his parent’s home in Lafayette, Indiana. She survives in Monticello.

Joe worked as an electrical engineer with Bioanalytical Systems in West Lafayette from 1981-2021.  During his career, he was granted eight patents for the design of medical devices. Joe continued doing what he enjoyed at his "retirement job”, by working at Purdue University as a senior electrical design lab instructor. Joe was a man who enjoyed figuring out how things worked. He loved fixing things, taking things apart, and tinkering with projects. Joe loved to play cards and enjoy Friday night pizza with his treasured neighbors Jane and Dean Devoe. He also gave his time to help with Soup for the Soul at the Monticello United Methodist Church.

Above all Joe treasured time spent with his wife Linda, his daughter Holly and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Judith.
