Charles "Chuck" R. McKee

Charles R. “Chuck” McKee, 70, of Earl Park, passed away at 2:05 PM, Sunday, July 22, 2018 at St. Elizabeth East of Lafayette, surrounded by family.

He was born March 31, 1948 in Lafayette to the late Albert and Patricia (Couch) McKee. Chuck was a 1966 graduate of A.J. Kent High School.

His marriage was to Frances “Fran” Slavens on September 24, 1966; she survives.

Chuck was a lifetime resident of the Earl Park area and was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Earl Park. He was a longtime member of the Painters Union Brotherhood # 460 until his retirement.

In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed boating, camping, throwing horseshoes, attending grandkids activities and sporting events, playing euchre with friends, listening to music with his daughters, and cruising in his T-bird with his “Queen Bee.”

Surviving along with his wife are children, Cindy (Larry) Daily of Fowler, IN, Joanne (Colby) Strasburger of Russellville, IN, Anji Strasburger of Kentland, IN, Stephanie (Orive) Landa of Lafayette, IN, and son-in-law Troy Strasburger of Earl Park, IN. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; siblings, Pam (Rick) Murphy of Boonville, IN, Candy (Scott) Schurtter of Avon, IN, Patricia Sondgeroth of Columbia, MO, and Tim McKee of Huntingburg, IN.

Preceding him in death along with his parents is a brother, James McKee.

Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM (EST) Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Earl Park. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM (EST). Interment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Kentland.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Charles’ name to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Earl Park.
