April L. Pennington

April L. Pennington, 57, of West Lafayette, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, October 17, 2025, at IU Health Hospital of Lafayette. She was born on March 26, 1968, in Lafayette to the late Lynn and Kathleen (Thompson) Brooke. April graduated from W.H. Harrison High School in 1986 and married Helem “Skip” Pennington on September 16, 1989, who survives her.

April was a past member of 4-H and cake superintendent in Tippecanoe County. She spent many years working as a cake decorator at Pay Less in West Lafayette. Even after her retirement, she continued to share her talent by decorating cakes for friends and family. April had a passion for collecting porcelain dolls, cats, and Fabergé eggs, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Skip, and their daughter, Tori Pennington of West Lafayette. Her siblings, Lorne (Tricia) Brooke of West Lafayette, Luke (Maggie) Brooke of Pine Village, Lewis Brooke of Lafayette, and Linc (Tiffany) Brooke of Dayton, also survive her, along with her many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

April was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lane Brooke.

A celebration of life will be announced when arrangements are available.
