Barbara Shepherd-Branam

Barbara Shepherd-Branam, 72, of Remington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Franciscan Health Hospital of Rensselaer.

She was born October 9, 1946 in Remington to the late John and L. Bernice (Goodwine) Shepherd. Barbara was a 1964 graduate of Remington High School and received her associate’s degree from Indiana Business College of Fort Wayne.

Her marriage was to Richard Kurtz, he passed in 2010. She married Mike Branam, he passed in 1998.

Barbara was a resident of Fort Wayne before moving back to the Remington area. She worked for Lowes in Fort Wayne and also Dayton-Hudson of Fort Wayne as office manager. Barbara enjoyed traveling when able and time spent with family and friends.

She is survived by her significant other, Ray Boyd of Remington and her children, Rich Kurtz of Fort Wayne, Ryan Kurtz of Winamac, and Jane Perry of Oregon, OH; brothers, Rex Shepherd of Iowa and Don (Gloria) Shepherd of Franklin, IN. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and two late husbands are 5 brothers.

Friends may call from 1 PM (EST) until the time of Memorial Service 3 PM (EST) Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Shepherd-Branam Memorial Fund.
