Bobby's Obituary
Bobby D. (Bob) Frantz, of Brookston, passed away at the age of 79 on August 4, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born July 9, 1944 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late John G. and Ruby A. (Yoder) Frantz of Rossville.
Bob was a 1962 graduate of Rossville High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany, he served 3 years before being honorably discharged on November 13, 1967. He then married Donna Risner on March 25 1972.
Bob began his long career at the former Eli Lilly Manufacturing Plant in Lafayette where he retired as the Contractor Coordinator in 2006. Bob really enjoyed being in one of two places; Watts Bar Lake in Tennessee where he and his son, Aaron, never met a fish they didn’t try to catch or the back country roads around Rossville where he would be cruising in his Jeep to see the crops growing. Bob also treasured the Wednesday night dinners, ice cream trips and endless laughs with his granddaughter Callee.
Along with his wife of 51 years, Bob is survived by his son, Aaron (Krista) Frantz, his two grandchildren, Callee Frantz and Jordan Randolph, as well as his sister, Sara (Frantz) Blythe.
Bob was also the member of American Legion Post 75. The family asks that donations in Bob’s memory be made to the Honor Flight of Greater Lafayette PO Box 4782, Lafayette IN 47903.
Bob chose not to have a funeral service. There will be a family celebration of life held at a later date.
