Bonita "Bonnie"'s Obituary

Bonita “ Bonnie” Mae Triplett, 71, of Monticello, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at her residence in Monticello, surrounded by the love of those whose lives she so beautifully touched.

Born on September 23, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Bonnie was the cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Gladys Elaine (Lee) Flowers. She graduated from Orr High School in Chicago.

On June 29, 1985, Bonnie married the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Triplett, in Maywood, Illinois. Together they built not only a wonderful marriage, but a life centered on love, hospitality, and creating lasting memories. They spent many years in Chicago before making their summer home in Monticello in 1984. In 2003, they made Monticello their permanent home.

For more than 20 years, Bonnie and Mike have proudly owned and operated the Lighthouse Lodge Bed and Breakfast, where Bonnie’s warmth and generous heart made every guest feel like family. She found joy in opening her home, sharing delicious meals, and making others feel welcomed and cared for.

She loved to cook, spending time on the water and boating, entertaining family and friends, and traveling the world alongside Mike. Hawaii held a special place in her heart, and one of her most treasured adventures was celebrating her 70th birthday with a Mediterranean cruise.

Along with her husband Mike, she is survived by a son, John Marchewka of Wheaton, Illinois; a stepson, Daniel Paul Triplett (wife, Sarah) of Thorntown, Indiana; siblings, Earl Flowers of Illinois and Greg Flowers of Melrose Park, Illinois; two grandchildren, Mikaela Jordyn Marchewka and Matthew Michael Triplett.

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Dena Rodriguez and Margaret Flowers; a brother, Kenneth Flowers and a stepson, Michael William Triplett.

Visitation will be held at Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home, Monticello on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 3:00 p.m until time of services celebrating Bonnie’s life at 5:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Riley’s Children Hospital.
