Carolyn "CJ" Farrell

Carolyn J. Farrell, affectionately known as CJ, passed away peacefully at 4:41 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Franciscan East Hospital in Lafayette. Born on May 18, 1947, in Williamsport, Indiana, CJ was the beloved daughter of the late Albert F. and Iva Christine (Godby) Reynolds. She graduated from Attica High School in 1965.

Shortly after high school, CJ met Teddy A. Jeffries and the couple were married on July 3, 1965, in Attica.  Together, they shared four children: Kristy, Sherri, Chad, and Brad. After 22 years of marriage, they divorced.  Later, CJ married Ronnie Farrell; he passed away December 9, 2013.

CJ dedicated her career to serving others as a waitress at several establishments, including the Red Barn in Attica, the Tivoli Restaurant and Bar in Goodland, The Curve-In-Café of Wolcott, and finally the Remington Café, where she retired. She cherished her mornings with a cup of coffee, enjoying the company of friends and neighbors.

Her love for her family was paramount, especially her grandchildren.  She loved her dog, Bear, and enjoyed trips to the casino.

CJ is survived by her children, Kristy J. Byers (Andy) of Crawfordsville, IN, Sherri Rhoda (Mark) of Amarillo, TX, Chad Jeffries (Thonda) of Remington, and Brad Jeffries (Noelia) of Remington. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Tonya Posthaver (Matt), Brittany Carr (Dustin), William Byers (Audry), Kayla Perry-Holt (Terry), Ashley Gaskill, Trisha Gaskill, Megan Bazurto, Dalton Jeffries, Logan Jeffries, Jazmin Meyer (Cody), and Drake Jeffries; her 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Jerry Reynolds, her sister Eileen Wilkie, and her husband Ronnie Farrell.

A visitation to celebrate CJ’s life will be held from 5-7 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington.
