Carolyn M. Morgan

Carolyn M. Morgan, 94, of Kentland, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus of West Lafayette. She was born May 31, 1926 in Iroquois County, IL to the late Leo and Marie (Freeland) Sondgerath. Carolyn was a graduate of A.J. Kent High School and later received her nursing degree from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. Carolyn started working as a Registered Nurse in 1970 at George Ade.  

Her marriage was to Wayne N. Morgan on July 30, 1947; Wayne preceded her in death on September 15, 1998.  

She was a member of Retired Nurses of St. Elizabeth, St. Joseph Women’s Society and former board member at George Ade Memorial Home of Brook. While working as a registered nurse Carolyn also helped her husband on the farm for several years.  

Carolyn enjoyed spending time gardening and tending to her flowers and playing cards with friends and family. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.  

Surviving are children, Thomas (Maria) Morgan of Florida and Deb Morgan of Kentland; sister, Kate Kwiatt of Glenview, IL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Jesse Morgan, Cody Morgan, Sara Durham, Jill Mims, and Katy Morgan; 3 great-grandchildren, Maxx Durham, Molly Mims, and Zachary Froberg.  

Preceding her in death along with her husband is a son, Stephen Morgan.

Friends may call from 10 AM (CST) until the time of Funeral Mass 11 AM (CST) Thursday, January 28, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland. Fr. Robert Bernotas to officiate. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  

Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s name to the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing
