Catherine's Obituary
Catherine Ellen Fife, 72, of Delphi, passed away peacefully at 3:40 a.m. on October 3, 2026, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette, Indiana.
She was born on August 16, 1954, in Monticello, Indiana, to the late Wayne and Betty Jo (Phifer) Baxter. Catherine was a 1972 graduate of Twin Lakes High School.
On August 3, 1985, she married Charles Earl Fife at Riley Park in Delphi. Together they shared many wonderful years until his passing on June 26, 2021. Catherine lived her entire life in Monticello and Delphi communities.
Catherine was a longtime member of the Delphi Wesleyan Church, where she faithfully helped wherever she was needed and enjoyed being a part of the church family. She also enjoyed spending time at the Delphi Senior Citizens group, especially their shopping trips, lunches and brunches. She cherished the friendships she found through these activities.
Catherine retired in 2004 from Purdue University, where she worked as a cook. Prior to her time at Purdue, she worked for RCA in Monticello. She took great pride in her work.
In her free time Catherine loved diamond painting and could be found working on a craft, crocheting, or sewing.
She is survived by three children, Jessica Jo Howe, Joshua Fife and Joseph Fife all of Lafayette: eight grandchildren, Jason Owen, Jr., Caleb Owen, Cheyenne Owen, Charles Howe, Ezyma Howe, Silas Fife, Gabriella Fife and AJ Hettinger and three great grandchildren, Madlyn Owen, Jason Owen and Waylon Owen.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Mike Baxter.

A Celebration of Catherine’s life will be held at the Delphi Wesleyan Church on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 3:30 pm.
