Christopher Patrick Wheelock

April 02, 1956 - January 21, 2024

Christopher Patrick Wheelock, age 67 of Kentland, passed away January 21, 2024.

Pat is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; his children, Dustin (Lindsay) Wheelock, Jennifer (Yousef) Kabab, and Jill (Zachary) Allen; his grandchildren Hayden, Paul, & Holland Wheelock, Maxwell Kabab, and Christopher, Jackson, & Penelope Allen; as well as his siblings Sally Walkup and Tom Wheelock and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Willis & Lucille Wheelock; his siblings Richard Wheelock and Grace Schoonveld; his nieces Merillee Schoonveld, Amy Wheelock, and Jackie Wheelock, and his grandniece Erica Wheelock.

Pat was a graduate of South Newton High School in Kentland, IN and earned his BBA, Marketing from St. Joesph’s College and MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. Pat was an entrepreneur who started a manufacturing business, WMI, where he worked for 27 years until its sale in 2018. Most recently Pat worked at Mike Alsop Chevrolet in Lafayette and took great joy in the opportunity to work with his son there.

Pat was a loving husband, father, and “Pop” to his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, especially Ron Burke, and nephews as well as attending sporting events and school programs for his children and grandchildren. Pat enjoyed taking Jill to pitching clinics and acting as her catcher until her pitching skills surpassed his ability to see the incoming ball. He was a lifelong Blue Oyster Cult fan with talent for music and could play most songs on his guitar by ear. Pat shared his love of music with Jennifer and took her to countless concerts in Chicago. He loved spending weekends helping Dustin and Lindsay at the racetrack and seeing them both race. In recent years Pat could often be found reading books to his grandkids or spending time with the family nuisance, err dog, Sonny.
