Crystal Rachelle Sanders

Crystal Rachelle Sanders, 67, of Brookston, passed away at 12:25 a.m., Thursday, May 20, 2021 at The Springs in Lafayette.

  She was born August 4, 1953 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Walter and Mary (McDonald) Byrd and was a 1972 graduate of North White High School.

  On May 5, 1973 she married the love of her life, Gale David Sanders, in the Monon United Methodist Church; Gale preceded her in death on April 12, 2019.

  Crystal helped Gale with the daily operation of their G&C Transport, hauling new RV’s to dealerships across the United States.

  She enjoyed gardening, painting, reading and most of all, time spent with family and her grandkids.

  Surviving are her two sons, Jason Sanders (wife: Cindy) of Brookston and Matt Sanders (wife: Lela) of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Austin, Kelsy, Kyran, Wyatt and Colton Sanders and Jayla Teel; 3 brothers, John Bedilion (wife: Crystal), Walter Byrd Jr. and Ralph Byrd; a sister, Coral Byrd and several nieces and nephews.

  Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston.
