Daniel Lee "Dan" Gross

Daniel Lee "Dan" Gross, 71 of Idaville, Indiana went to be with his Lord and Saviour at 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, Indiana, with his family by his side.

Dan was born on Tuesday, April 29, 1952, in Lafayette, Indiana in the old St. Elizabeth Hospital to Leon W. Gross and Sylvia J. (Pearson) Gross. They both preceded him in death.

On February 17, 1974, in the Idaville First Church of God, with Rev. Carl Bankely he married Linda Lou Goodnight.   She survives.

Dan was born and raised in White County, area.  He was a 1970 graduate of the Frontier High School. He then went to Tennessee Technical Institute for Diesel Tech. Dan was known for his small engine repair, woodworking, and gardening. He loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.   He was a member and elder of the Idaville First Church of God for 49 years.  Dan was a devoted Christian and loved playing Dart ball.

Dan is survived by his wife, Linda Gross of Idaville, Indiana, daughter, Laura McClellan of West Lafayette, Danielle (husband Luke) Sizemore of Wolcott, Indiana, sons,  Warren (companion Gretchen Cain) Gross of Otterbein, Indiana, Nathan Gross of Logansport, Indiana,  Andrew Gross of Tennessee, Dakotah (wife Lakeland) Gross of Sparta, Tennessee, Christian Gross of Idaville, Indiana,  grandchildren, Riley, Adrienne, Emma, Hannah, Caden, Kyra, and Karley, great grandchildren, Ryland, Arabella, Branson, Iva, and Sawyer siblings, Dianne M. Veach of Lafayette, Indiana, Roger L. (wife Pat) Gross of Monticello, Indiana, Kevin D. (wife Cathy) Gross of Monticello, Indiana, and Gary L. Gross of Reynolds, Indiana, sister and sisters-in-law, Joyce Crichfield of Idaville, Indiana, Janet Freshour of Idaville, Indiana, Mary Renner of Texas, and Alice Goodnight of Illinois, brother-in-law, Harry Weller of Clymers, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia J. (Pearson) and Leon W. Gross, mother and father -in-law, Herman and Florean (Fouch) Goodnight, sister-in-law, Carolyn Weaver, Judy Weller, Judy Goodnight, and Linda Ruth Gross, brother-in-law, Dave Goodnight, Joe Goodnight, Bob Goodnight, Dick Goodnight, Don Renner, Dick Freshour, Ed Weaver, and John Crichfield 

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Idaville Church of God of Idaville, Indiana.

Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Idaville Church of God, of Idaville, Indiana with Pastor Keith Raderstorf officiating.

Burial will follow in the Idaville Cemetery of Idaville, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be given to the Idaville Church of God. Envelopes will be available at the church, funeral home, or can be mailed to 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Gross Family.
