David Lawrence Barnhart

David Lawrence Barnhart, 75, of Monticello, passed away peacefully at 9:18pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Monticello Healthcare. Born on April 26, 1949, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late John and Beluah M. (Jones) Barnhart.

David was a proud graduate of Rossville High School and served his country as a United States Air Force Veteran. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ruth “Liz” Barnhart, on May 20, 1978, in Carroll County, Indiana. Liz preceded him in death on September 27, 2018.

David was a dedicated worker, having been employed at Globe Valve in Delphi and Small Parts in Logansport. He was also a talented drummer, playing in the Wildcat Band, and was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies included fishing, fixing things, and a passion for aviation. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

He is survived by his five children, Chad E. Barnhart (wife Phoenix) Casco, Michigan, Scott Barnhart of Idaville, David Barnhart, Chris Barnhart, and Jimmy Barnhart; his brother, Gary Barnhart of Henryville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Karin, Lucas, Michael, Roland, and Kai; and a great-grandson, Jasper.

In accordance with David’s wishes, funeral services will be held privately for the family.
