David Leroy Jeffries

David Leroy Jeffries, 73, of Brookston, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home. He was born January 5, 1950 in Lafayette, IN to Leo and Lola H. (Nichols) Jeffries.

David enjoyed life on his own terms, always floating along on a warm breeze and usually by the seat of his pants. He had a big heart, a warm smile, and a story for everything. He never met a stranger. Daddy loved his family with all he had.

Dave loved a good cup of coffee always with two sugars and an ice cube. He enjoyed his nightly perch on main street for his evening rum and coke. He loved fast cars, dirty jokes, and petite blondes.  

David is survived by his only daughter, Jennifer Voight (husband: Jason) of Cleveland, TN. Two grandsons, Matthew Voight (fiancé: Jennifer) and Justin Voight, both of Cleveland, TN. Sister, Leola “Snooky” Widmer of Lafayette, IN; brother, Stan Jeffries (wife: Fairie) of Brookston, IN. Dave is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dad was a simple man. Please remember him with a smile. Go to that ball game, make that phone call, no matter how long is last, eat that extra piece of cake.

Tomorrow is not promised to us, make every single moment count. Dance like no ones watching, he always did.

A small service will be announced for this summer. He always loved summer best.
