David's Obituary
David W. Sweet, aged 65, of Brook, passed away surrounded by his family on November 18, 2024, at his residence. Born on June 30, 1959, in Hammond, IN, to the late Earl and Louise (Stephens) Sweet, David was a graduate of Gavit High School in Hammond. He married Donna Mae Deckard on March 4, 1978, in the Church of God of Munster, IN. Donna preceded him in death on November 2, 2021.
David was a self-employed cabinet maker and carpenter for several years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, and cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also had a passion for Chicago sports.
He is survived by his four daughters, Jennifer Guglielmo of Brook, April Sweet of Kentland, Amber Sweet of Remington, and Candice Crawford (Larry) of Sheldon, IL; two sons, Joshua Sweet and Christopher Sweet, both of Kentland; three sisters, Gloria Sweet, Elen Sweet, and Judy Sweet, all of Hammond; and one brother, Earl Sweet, also of Hammond. David is also survived by his 15 beloved grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, along with his wife and parents, is a brother, Brian Sweet. Private services will be held at a later date.
