David's Obituary
David Truby, 83, of Kentland, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home.
David was born on November 7, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Married Barbara S. Boreson in 1975 until her death in 1981. Married Darlene Spurgeon Bryan in 1989. David was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Emerson Truby and Bernice Underwood Truby, wife Barbara and step grandson Wyant Boreson. He is survived by his wife Darlene and five stepsons, and four step grandchildren.
David enjoyed the last half of his life in his country home outside Kentland, IN, hobby farming some poultry and livestock while pursuing hobbies in photography, black powder firearms, woodworking, golfing, beekeeping and RV camping with his wife Darlene, logging over 100,000 miles throughout the USA and Canada. He was a faithful donor of blood receiving a 4 gallon pin from Indiana Blood Organization and a 5 gallon pin from the American Red Cross.
David was a volunteer board of director member for Hazelden Country Club and Comprehensive Development Corporation (CDC) following his retirement from Viskase Corporation in 1998.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM (CDT) Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Funeral Service 11 AM (CDT) Friday, March 17, 2023 also at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland.
