David's Obituary
David M. Wilkerson, 49, of Wolcott, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his home. He was born July 8, 1974 in Rensselaer to the late Wilbur G. and Barbara K. (Hendress) Wilkerson. Dave was a 1992 graduate of Tri-County High School.
Dave drove a truck for the past 4 years for his brother Jim at DJW Transport of Lafayette. Prior to DJW, He was an owner/operator driving for himself 12 years.
Dave had an extensive collection of farm toys from years of gathering. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Most of all, Dave cherished time spent coaching his daughters through softball over the years. He also spent many weekends on the road playing in men’s softball leagues developing life long friendships along the way. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his two daughters, Kami and Destiny “Dizzy” Wilkerson both of Wolcott; ex-wife, Heather Wilkerson. Siblings, Gene (wife: Alisha) Wilkerson of Reynolds, Kevin (wife: Stephanie) Wilkerson of Monticello, and Jim Wilkerson of Lafayette.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Wilbert and Barbara Wilkerson.
Friends may call from 2-6 PM (EST) Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the Wolcott Christian Church. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM (EST) Monday, January 29, 2024 also at the Wolcott Christian Church. Interment to follow in West Point Cemetery of Wolcott. Pastor Bryce Cook to officiate.
