Denise Lynn Culver, 62 of Brookston, passed away with her husband by her side, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 12:25 a.m.
She was born May 15, 1958 in Lafayette, to the late Ralph W. and Diane V. (Mills) Sigman and was a 1976 graduate of Benton Central High School.
Her marriage was to Jeffrey N. “Chico” Culver on February 14, 1990, at the Chalmers Community Church; he survives.
Denise began working for State Farm immediately after graduating high school, a career that would span 37 years, in multiple roles including auto underwriting. After retiring, she worked for the Bank of Wolcott for 4 years.
Denise was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and hostess. She always made sure everyone had plenty of good food and everyone was having a great time.
She enjoyed summer camping trips with her family to Old Mill Run in Thorntown for 16 consecutive years. She also enjoyed family reunions, crafting, and making her own decorations. Christmas held a special place in Denise’s heart, as she enjoyed decorating, and making Christmas candy and her special chex mix.
Surviving with her husband Chico is their son, Brandon Culver (wife Becca) of Churubusco, IN, and her brother, Doug Sigman (wife Krystal) of West Lafayette. Denise loved spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters, Cora Mae and Violet Elizabeth. Also surviving are two special nieces, Taylor Bixler and Shelby Hornaday.
Preceding her in death with her parents is a brother, Michael Sigman.
Per Denise’s wishes no services are planned.
Because of Denise’s love for animals, memorials may be made to the animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
