Dorothy's Obituary
Dorothy May, 91, of Remington, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at White Oak Health Campus of Monticello.
She was born May 22, 1933 in Goodland, IN to the late Chapman G. and Minnie (Allen) Dalton. Dorothy was a graduate of Goodland High School.
Her marriage was to John B. May on February 2, 1953. John preceded her in death on June 18, 1991.
Dorothy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She cherished memories of family gatherings and cookouts during the summer.
She is survived by her children, Sheryl Alberts (husband: Tom) of Richmond, IN, Gregory John May of Remington, IN, Mary Ellen Mathew (husband: Paul) of Remington, IN, and Julie Lear also of Remington. Dorothy is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents are siblings, Virgil Dalton, Curtis Dalton, James Dalton, William Dalton, David Dalton, Barbara King, Marjorie Hanna, Alice Medley, and Nancy Coogan. Son-in-law, Rick Lear and daughter-in-law, Linda May.
Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 AM (EDT) Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Burial to follow visitation in Remington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Remington Food Pantry.
