Elizabeth "Betty" Goss

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Mitchell Goss, 96, of Indianapolis, formerly of Wolcott, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Robin Run Village of Indianapolis. 

She was born January 7, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Clarence and Edna (Barnard) Mitchell. Betty was a graduate of Brookston High school. She continued her education receiving degrees from Franklin College and Indiana University.

Her marriage was to Charles Robert “Bob” Goss on June 29, 1958. Bob passed away on August 22, 2015.

Betty was a past member of the Brookston Federated Church where her father was head pastor. She also attended and was a past member of the Wolcott Christian Church.

Betty was an elementary educator, teaching first grade for many years. 

She enjoyed attending church activities, was active in the choir, Home EC Club, and taught Sunday School for several years. Betty put her faith in God and was always willing to put others before herself. 

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews on the Goss and Mitchell sides. Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband is a brother, Fredrick Mitchell. 

A memorial service will be held at Robin Run Village at 10:00 am on Monday, October 16, 2023.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, 11:00 AM (EST) at Meadow Lake Cemetery of Wolcott. Pastor Lelan McReynolds to officiate. 

The family of Betty would like to thank the caregivers of Robin Run Village and especially Taisha Swann, Betty’s special angel, for their continuous care and support for her over the years. And thank you to Compassus Hospice Care.
