Ellen Brown

Ellen B. Brown, 92, of Wolcott passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 26, 1930 in Lafayette to the late Lawrence and Julia (Malady) Burns.

Ellen was a 1948 graduate of Remington High School. Her marriage of 63 years was to Kenneth W. Brown on April 23, 1949 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington. Kenneth passed away in 2012.

She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alter and Rosary Society, and 50 year member of Town and Country Card Club. Ellen also enjoyed the Butterfly Club at the Wolcott Public Library.

Ellen worked several years for Indiana Ribbon Factory of Wolcott. She enjoyed spending time in the garden, was an avid reader, and cherished time spent with her family.

Ellen is survived by her children, Sherry Oilar of Brookston, Pat (Terri) Brown of Wolcott, Bruce (Joyce) Brown of Lee, FL, Becky (Tony) Aguilar of Remington, Marj (Mike) Henderson of Brookston, and Greg (Carol) Brown of Remington. Grandchildren, Heath (Christiane), Sean (Megan), Mark (Angie), Joe (Sara), Nathan (Jennifer), Naomi (Jay), Selena (Michael), Marcey, Jeff (Sarah), Jason, Kayla (David), Dustin, and Nick (Christena). Great-grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Drew, Coby, Malik, Natalie, Lizzie, Liam, Beau, Ellie, Millie, Henry, Elias, Joe, and Gabe. Ellen is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Brown of Wolcott.

Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents are son, Larry Brown; son-in-law, Mick Oilar; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Friends may call from 10 AM (EST) until the time of Funeral Mass 12 PM (EST) Friday, December 2, 2022 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Goodland. Fr. Joshua Bennett to officiate. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Remington.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ellen’s name to the Wolcott Public Library or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
