Elliot D. Park, 84, of Sheldon, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital of Watseka, IL. He was born January 5, 1937 in Silvis, IL to the late David and Violet (Johnson) Park. Elliot was a graduate of United Township High School.

Elliot retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Through his time in the Air Force, he had been stationed in Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and other countries.

His first marriage was to Ruth Heald in Carbon Cliff, IL, 1956; she preceded him in death on January 21, 2019. He later married Shirley Hanslow on July 24, 2021 at Grace Through Faith church of Oxford; she survives.

After 20 years of service in the military, Elliot was a self-employed electronics technician traveling throughout the Tazewell County area and beyond. He was an avid gardener, loved studying the bible, and enjoyed spending time outdoors around nature. 

Surviving along with his wife Shirley, are his children, Douglas (Margaret) Park of Seminole, FL, Cynthia (Kenneth) Fisher of Newnan, GA, and David E. (Annette) Park of Villa Park, IL. Siblings, Stanley (Joyce) Park, Marie (Les) Luft, Dianne Davenport, and Carolyn (Jack) Wiese. Also surviving are grandchildren, Laura, Lisa, Matthew, Rachel, Joey, Paul, and Bradley; two great-grandchildren also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Violet Park; first wife, Ruth Park and brother-in-law, Howard Davenport.

Friends may call from 10 AM (EST) until the time of funeral service 12 PM (EST) Friday, September 3, 2021 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Private family interment to follow funeral service.
