Gene was passionate about serving the Lord and the needy. The last half of his life was committed to providing relief to the poor in his locale and in Eastern Europe, with his energetic, hard working wife at his side. He was dearly loved by his wife and family, who will miss him greatly, even as they rejoice that he has attained his highest goal, which was to serve the Lord until the end of his life.
