Helen M. Hanna

Helen M. Hanna, 99 of Monticello, Indiana, went to be with her lord and savior on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 11:08 p.m. in the White Oak Health Campus Assisted Living Center of Monticello, Indiana.

Helen was born on Monday, September 24, 1923, in Cass County, Indiana to Howard and Bessie Fern (Campbell) Smith. They preceded her in death.

On Sunday, May 7, 1944, in the Hickory Grove Church of rural Carroll County, Indiana, she married Charles R. Hanna. He preceded her in death on Wednesday, August 31, 1988.

Helen had spent most of her life farming with her husband.  She attended college at the Logansport Business College and continued to learn every day.  Helen was a member of the Hickory Grove Church of rural Carroll County, Indiana. She was also a member of the Chrystal Chapter Order of the Easter Star #165 of Monticello, Indiana.  Helen was also very active in the Gideons, Carroll County Farm Bureau, and the Delphi Book Club.  Helen loved to bake, sew, and read.  She most of all loved her family and traveling with her two daughters.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Charlotte (husband Berry) Williams of Raleigh, North Carolina and Joyce (husband Jim) Fouts of Seymour, Indiana, a son Gerald (wife Ann) Hanna of Delphi, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Kris Hanna of Delphi, Indiana, ten (10) grandchildren, and several nineteen (19) great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Howard & Bessie Fern (Campbell) Smith, husband Charles R. Hanna, son, Eddie Hanna, grandchild, Martha Williams, and four (4) brothers.

Memorial celebration of life service will on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hickory Grove Church located at 9714 N. 700 W. Delphi, Indiana, with Pastor Erick Riddle of the Hickory Grove Church officiating.

No public visitation is scheduled just funeral services.

Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery

Memorial contributions may be given to the Hickory Grove Church 9714 N. 700 W. Delphi, Indiana 46923, envelopes will be available at the funeral home or the church, or can be mailed to 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Hanna Family.
