Imogene (Shepherd) Jones

Imogene Jones, 89, of Monticello (formerly of Lafayette), Indiana, died on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 3:55 a.m. in the Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center with her family by her side. 

Imogene was born on November 9, 1933, in Hindman, Kentucky to John M Shepherd and Sarah (Green) Shepherd.  They preceded her in death.

Imogene was born and raised in Kentucky.  She and her family raised their own food and she truly enjoyed her raising the baby cows.  Imogene loved to travel and the Florida heat spending over thirty years there.  She enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  Imogene was known best for her huge heart are caring for others.  She loved her animals.

Imogene is survived by her loving family Peggy (Sizemore) Myers of Lafayette, Indiana, Roger Sizemore of Delphi, Indiana, Linda (Sizemore) Weaver Sharon and Tim (Sizemore) McKinney of Star City, Junior Sizemore of Lafayette, Indiana, and Tammy (Sizemore) Price of Indiana, numerous grandchildren.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, John M. & Sarah (Green) Shepherd, husband Joseph Jones, and great granddaughter Brooklyn Collins.

No visitation or services are being held at this time; a private family service will be held at a later date, Imogene will be laid to rest with her parents in Buckhorn Holler, Kentucky.

Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Imogene Jones.
