In 2018, Jim was honored to participate in the Honor Flight with his son David, that was a special memory for him.

Surviving with his wife Marlene, are two daughters, Cindy Guntrip of Brookston and Angie Cunningham of Lafayette; a son, David Guntrip (wife: Amanda) of Worthington, Ohio; and a sister, Jo Ann Guntrip of Brookston.  Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren, Cory and Kayla Cunningham and James “JR” Guntrip.  Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Sophia and Giovanni DelReal of Lafayette and two special girls, Shar George and Lori Sondgeroth.
