She was born July 29, 1935 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to the late Murray and Ida (Singer) Lawlor. Joan attended Mimico High School and graduated from Toronto Teachers College as an elementary teacher.

Her first marriage was to Edward Wilson of Kentland in 1961; she later married John R. Webster and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Joan taught first grade in Toronto before moving to Kentland. Several years later she opened and ran her own floral shop doing events and weddings which she loved. She devoted most of her time to raising her children and being actively involved in their lives, and community and school activities. Later in life she went to work for Edward J. Funk and Sons handling special activities and events.

Joan is survived by her sister, Bonnie Sexton (David) of Valparaiso, IN, her children, Vicki (husband: Chris) Deane of Geneva, IL, and Tim (wife: Tracy) Wilson of Veedersburg, IN and her step-children Gloria Aims of Kentland, Gary (Bec) Webster of Florida, and Jack (Brenda Bargmann) of Alabama.

Her beloved grandchildren were the light of her life. Never missing a birthday, special event, or holiday with a note, smile or words of encouragement. She will be greatly missed by: Erin, Brendan, and Ryan Deane, Chastity and William Wilson, Abby (Jim) Wood, Tess (Tim) Brennan, Amy (Mitch) Boyce, Jacob (Nicole) Webster.
