John's Obituary
John A. Philo, 44, of Monon, passed away at his home on Friday, November 14, 2025.
He was born June 19, 1981, in Monticello, Indiana to the late Terry A. Philo and Jennifer S. (Dulin) Philo. John earned his GED from North White High School.
John worked as a security guard for Allied Universal Security and G4S Security for several years. He also worked for Auto Value in Monon delivering parts until his health prevented him from working.
On June 22, 2024, John married the love of his life, Crystal E. Cornell at her home in Monon. The two of them loved spending time together with their dogs, Huck, Millie and Nola. They also enjoyed camping in Michigan while visiting family and friends.
John also enjoyed riding his scooters around town.
Surviving with his wife, Crystal, is his mother, Jennifer and a brother, T.J. Philo. Also surviving is a special stepdaughter, Analeigha Stanton and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Preceding him in death is his father, Terry Philo; his grandparents, Eugene and Delores Philo, his grandmother, Vivian Dulin; his great-grandparents, Jessie & Kathryn Ellison and his grandfather, Emil Dulin Sr. and his uncle, Emil "Jr" Dulin.
A visitation to celebrate John's life will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the John Philo Memorial Fund to be used for a later good in his name.
