John's Obituary
John Phillip Stack, 64, of Burnettsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 13, 1960, John was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Della (Sabia) Stack.
He was married to Bonita Casperson on May 18, 2002, in Markham, Illinois, and she survives him in Burnettsville.
John spent his early years in Burbank, Illinois, before moving to Burnettsville, where he lived for the past 11 years. A self-employed carpenter and diesel mechanic, John was known as a Jack of all Trades. He was a proud member of the Cloven-Hoofs motorcycle club and the carpenter's union.
John had a passion for riding his motorcycle, playing horseshoes, poker, camping, and shooting pool. His two granddaughters were the apple of his eye, and he cherished spending time with family and friends, often participating in motorcycle benefits to help others in need.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Bonita, and their three children: John Stack of Brookston, Haley Stack of Burnettsville, and Brooke Smith-Susan (husband, Trent) of Crawfordsville. He also leaves behind four siblings: Jim Stack (wife, Donna) of Willow Springs, Illinois, Thomas Stack (wife, Debra) of Owasso, Oklahoma, Donald Stack of Monticello, and Terry Stack (wife, Tamara) of Dunedin, Florida, as well as two cherished granddaughters, Iana Taylor and Virginia Smith-Susan.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Bain.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Fred L. Miller Memorial Chapel at the Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home in Monticello from 4:00pm until the time of services celebrating John's life at 7:00pm.
