Joyce's Obituary
Joyce A. (Dunning) Westfall, 88, of Monticello (formerly of Reynolds), Indiana, died at 5:43 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in the Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center of Monticello, Indiana.
Joyce was born on Monday, October 22, 1934, in Seldovia, Alaska to Lawrence and Eunice (Simard) Dunning. They both preceded her in death.
On Saturday, July 18, 1953, in Bothell, Washington, she married Theodore P. "Ted" Westfall. He died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Joyce was a Navy wife, she enjoyed traveling and making new friends. When Ted retired from the Navy, they settled in his hometown Reynolds. Over the years Joyce worked at the Purdue Grad House, Wallmans Grocery Store and was co-owner of Westfalls Market and J. & D.'s Common Scents of Reynolds, Indiana. Joyce enjoyed staying active in her community. She was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church where she helped with Bible School and Kids Night Out. She helped with several Reynolds Festivals and Halloween parties. Joyce was a member of Honey Creek Home Ec. Club. She enjoyed sewing and anything to do with crafting. Joyce always looked forward to hosting her taco salad card night. What Joyce loved most of all was spending time with family and friends. Thanks for sharing your big heart with so many. Until we meet again, we love you.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Donna (husband Troy) Meadows, and Julie Salomon both of Reynolds, Indiana, son, Ted (wife Betty) Westfall of Reynolds, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Sabrina Westfall of Noblesville, Indiana, bonus daughter, Toni Tuz of Shelton, Connecticut, grandchildren, Ryan (wife Janice) Westfall, Monica (husband Erik) Kurdelak, Natalie (husband Cory) Clemmons, Jennifer (husband Jason) Brushwood, Erin (wife Brittany) Witherow, Jerod Westfall, Cortney Alvarez, Neil (wife Kelli) Salomon, Katherine Salomon, and Rob (wife Nipha) Salomon, bonus grandchildren, Ami (husband Keith) Smith, and Rhonda (husband David) Schrock, seventeen (17) great-grandchildren, brothers, Lawrence (wife Karen) Dunning of Washington and Scott Deno of Washington.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Theodore P. "Ted" Westfall, son, Gordon Westfall, son-in-law, Steve Salomon, brother, Jon Dunning.
Gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
Private family services and burial will follow in the Bedford Cemetery of rural Monon, Indiana.
