Judy L. Monnett

Judy L. Monnett, 81, of Monon, passed away peacefully at 4:09 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 surrounded by her family.

  Judy was born April 18, 1942 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois to the late William and Velva (Carroll) Harmon and was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.

  Judy enjoyed BINGO and playing scratch off lottery tickets.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; she always a had candy or cake for the grandkids.  Judy liked to spend time reading and crocheting Afghans for all her family.  She enjoyed telling her daily stories about life growing up in Mt. Carmel. 

  Judy worked for Dwyre Instruments in Wolcott for 8 years until retiring in 2014.  Prior to that she worked for Northway Products in Rensselaer for 30 years.

  Surviving are her daughters, Tammy Wells of Lafayette, Brenda Pollock (Doug) of Illinois, Kitty Wells of Winamac and Deanna Sutherlin (Albert) of Oxford; 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. 

 Preceding her in death with her parents is a daughter, Gayla Wells; a sister, Ada Windle and a great-granddaughter, Addison Tomlinson.

  A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Bedford Cemetery in Monon.
