Kathy I. Richardson

Katherine I. Richardson, 75, of Brookston, passed away at 9:10 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

  She was born June 14, 1948, in Lafayette, Indiana to the late William and Virginia Chapman.  Kathy was a graduate of Lauramie High School in Stockwell.

  Her marriage was to James Joseph “Joe” Richardson on November 20, 1987, in Henderson, Kentucky; he survives.

  Kathy was a homemaker.  She had previously worked as an EMT for St. Elizabeth Hospital.

  At home, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens and cheering on Purdue Men’s Basketball and Football teams.  She loved spending time in the sun and being around water.  Most of all, Kathy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Kathy enjoyed having all her family over for Christmas and the holidays. 

  Surviving with her husband, Joe are her children, Beth Long of Plainfield and Babette “Bobby” Erwin (husband: Robert) of Lafayette; a stepson, Joe Richardson (wife: Store) of Houston, TX and her two stepdaughters, Jodi Potts (husband: Tom) of Frankfort and Jackie Biddle (husband: Rick) of Brookston.  Kathy loved the time spent with her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; they were the light of her life.

  Preceding her in death with her parents is a daughter, Jerilyn Hall; a brother, Kenny Chapman and her sister, Nancy Summers.
