Kay L. Stover

Kay Louise Stover, 67, of Monticello, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 12:13 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

Born March 12, 1959, in Logansport, Indiana, Kay was the beloved daughter of the late Ford Smith and Martha ( Irelan) Smith.

 She graduated from Twin Lakes High School with the Class of 1978. On June 10, 1979, she married the love of her life, Marty J. Stover, in Burnettsville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2023.

Kay devoted her life to caring for her home and the people she loved. She found happiness in planting flowers, searching the woods for mushrooms, preparing delicious meals for family and friends, and watching hummingbirds and cardinals visit her yard. She had a special place in heart for Scottish Terriers. Kay was a strong woman who endured many health issues and fought many hard battles in her life, including surviving a brain tumor and beating cancer. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with her children and grandchildren and the memories she created will be treasured forever. 

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Margo Stover of Burnettsville and Korinne Stover of Royal Center; one sister, Elizabeth Drummond (husband, Derek) of Florida; and two special grandsons, Aidan and Ethan Stover.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home, Monticello from 3:00 p.m. until time of services celebrating Kay’s life at 6:00 p.m..
