Kenneth Blanchette, 82, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, January 14, 2019. He was born March 23, 1936 in Logansport, IN to the late Everal and Rita (Billings) Blanchette. He was a graduate of Wolcott High School.
His marriage was to Janet Hoppe on June 2, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2018.
Kenneth was a crane operator for ALCOA of Lafayette for 31 years starting in 1966 and retiring in 1997. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, golfing and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Bears Football, Bulls Basketball and White Sox Baseball.
Surviving are his children, Julie Brennan of Wolcott, and Kevin (wife: Angie) Blanchette of Clermont, FL. Daughter-in-law, Lou Anne Blanchette of Wolcott; grandchildren, Nikki, Aaron, Adam, Angel, Whitney, Mackenzie, Kacy, Kari, Chelsea, Ciera, and Cassea; 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Joyce Gilbert of Yeoman, IN, Jo Anne Kyburz of Wolcott, Janet Prescott of Bellingham, WA, Kerry (wife: Gina) Blanchette of Fort Wayne, Kathy (husband: Tim) Ryan of Fort Wayne, and Karen (husband: Kenny) White of Fort Wayne.
Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife is a son, Keith Blanchette.
Friends may call from 11 AM (EST) until the time of Funeral Service 1 PM (EST) Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott. Entombment to follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens of West Lafayette.
