Larry's Obituary

Larry Meyer, 84, of Tennessee, formerly of Reynolds passed away peacefully at 6:40 pm, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Larry was born on May 23, 1941, in Reynolds, Indiana to the late Donald Frederick Henry Meyer and Alma Fern (Tow) Meyer. He was a proud graduate of Reynolds High School.

He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, a commitment he carried with pride throughout his life. On December 22, 1981, he married Donna Witt. She survives him and remains in Tennessee.

Larry was a devoted member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, as well as participating in church communities in Lafayette and Tennessee over the years.

Professionally, Larry worked for National Homes and Mudhog Drive Systems, where he met his future wife, Donna.  He continued his education at Porter Business College, where he studied Business Administration with a focus on Data Processing- an early step into a field that would shape much of his professional life.

This led him to a career with Home Hospital and then the University of Maryland, where he worked as a computer technician until his retirement.

Outside of work, Larry’s hobbies included classic cars. He had an extraordinary knowledge of makes, models, and engines, and he found true joy in attending classic car shows. Whether admiring a finely restored vehicle or sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts, Larry loved to be surrounded by chrome, history and horsepower.

He is survived by his loving children: Todd Meyer of Brookston; Sean Breitzke (wife, Lori) of Chattanooga, TN; and Chris Meyer (wife, Jade) of London, England; and daughter in law, Leann Meyer of Delphi.  He was a proud grandfather to Spencer, Evan, Jenson, Ryder, Cody (wife, Jasmine), Collin, Curtis (wife, Havyn), and cherished great grandfather to Theodore.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Tim Meyer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, Indiana. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service.

Burial will follow at Boswell Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
