Leona Marita (Martin) Myers

    Leona Marita (Martin) Myers, 72, of Monticello, Indiana, died on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11:56 am at her residence with her family by her side.

    Leona was born on Friday, September 15, 1950, in Carroll County, Indiana, to Alex Martin and Alice Gertrude (Logsdon) Martin.

    On Thursday, February 14, 2002, at the Monticello City Hall, she married John I. Myers he died on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

    Leona was born and raised in the Monticello area.  She worked at the Old RCA factory and retired from McGills both of Monticello, Indiana.   Leona was a member of the Monticello American Legion Womens Auxiliary post #81and AmVets Post 91, both of Monticello, Indiana. She loved working in her yard with her flowers.  Leona enjoyed the water and boating.  She loved sitting on her deck with family and friends sipping on her Blackberry Brandy and Coffee. Leona most of all was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, babysitting most of her grandchildren throughout the years. 

    Leona is survived by her children, Shelley Clark of Milton, Florida, Tammy Clark of Yeoman, Indiana, Patrick (wife Heather) Clark of Church Road, Virginia, Genia (husband David) Owens of Yeoman, Indiana, and Gene Clark, Jr. of Monticello, Indiana; Grandchildren, Travis (wife Megan) Clark, Andi Clark, Tori Robbins, Teag Robbins, Reis (wife Jaylyn) Clark, and Kennedy Clark; Great-Grandchildren, Fisher Clark, Conner Clark, and Baylor Pangle, Calum Robbins; sisters, Maydell "May" Sharkey, Sandy Martin-Wilson, and Pamela Haas; brother Alex Martin

    Leona was preceded in death by her, parents, Alex & Gertrude (Logsdon) Martin.  husband, John I. Myers; son, Mark Anthony Clark; granddaughter, Tarin Robbins; sisters, Ann Prather, Dorothy Simmons, Sue Holmes, Marsha Martin, and Marie Chapman; brother, Bill Martin.

    Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m., at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana. 

    Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana. 

    Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery of rural Monticello, Indiana.

         In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana 47960 C/O Myers Family Memorial.
