LeRoy John Chrisop

Leroy John Chrisop passed away in his home on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

John was born on August 25, 1939, at 417 West Marion Street, Monticello, Indiana the son of Lyle & Ruth Chrisop.

John was proceeded in death by his wife, Beverly, who passed away July 8, 2024, his parents, brother Edward, sisters, Kathleen’s & Marjorie. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Roberta Brady (husband: Paul) and stepson, Jon Boyd (wife: Kathy), sister Alice Kay (Chrisop) Fulnecky, brother Grant Chrisop and nephew Bob Chrisop, Eric Fulnecky. His Grandchildren: Matthew Brady (wife: Shondria), Joanna Brady, Erin Grant  (husband: Carter) great-grandson’s: August & Clark), Jared Brady, Maxwell Boyd (wife: Rachel) and Ally Dykstra (husband: Zach).

John was part owner of Chrisop Construction Company started by Lyle Chrisop in the 1940’s. In addition, John was a skilled woodworking craftsman and produced many pieces of furniture for himself and others.

John lived his entire life in Monticello; graduated high school the class of 1957. He served in the Indiana National Guard Army in the 1960’s. He was an avid sportsman skilled in fishing and hunting. He was also an avid golfer and basketball player.

John was everyone’s friend and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Arrangements are planned for Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Fred L. Miller Memorial Chapel of the Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral home. Visitation will start at 10:30 followed by a short service at 11:00 am with burial at Riverview IOOF Cemetery in Monticello.
